Three cowboys traveling through the deep forests of the high mountains expect a quiet ride. When they come upon Marshal Wheelwright transporting a prisoner the ride takes an unexpected turn. Deputizing the men, Wheelwright promises to help them find work once they help him escort the prisoner. However, the darkness of the forest is broken by a full moon, and the howls of something hunting them.
